Microsoft Office Word 07 Tips & Tricks

Recently, for a social studies assignment we had to collect a group of photos from the web and put them all together to form a collage. Thinking that M$ Word would do this task easily, I set out copying and pasting pictures from web pages to a new document I had opened. Soon realising that if I align pictures together, other pictures would moved, because of Word's stupid default text wrapping. I then had to for each picture select the formatting toolbar>click text wrapping>THEN click tight/behind text. 3 clicks for something that should have been done automatically!

Luckily, I hunted through the word options(under office button) and found an option to change the default wrapping type when a picture is copied into word from another program (i.e FF or IE)

I found this through Word option>Advanced(left pane)>Under Cut, copy and paste>Find "Insert/Paste pictures as:" and select your preference next to it.
Tight most popular, but Behind Text work well also.

Enjoy!

  1. If you want to put movies on your iPod nano - rip your DVDs using handbrake>import the file into iTunes then select the file and choose Convert selection for iPod/iPhone then sync when done.

    Cheers.
